I’ve decided to abandon Substack. I’m not claiming any sort of ideological purity when it comes to choosing sites to “partner” with; this server is hosted by Amazon, a company that very publicly decided that “don’t be evil” is too high of a standard to stick to. But lots of things about Substack rubbed me the wrong way, and the Nazi-coddling was a particularly vigorous hand in the wrong-rubbing.

I’m going to be creating my own WP theme for this site, not because I particularly love WordPress but because I could use a hand-crafted theme in my portfolio. (My other gig is as a friendly neighborhood Web Guy.)

I’ll be moving content and subscribers over here at some point as well, but for now I’m just glad to have a clean, well-lighted space for mouthing the fuck off.
